Chris and Mary Burbank's Aluminum Tandem

Chris Burbank showed the frame for a new tandem recumbent he is building for himself and Mary to cruise around on. Both bottom brackets are on the main backbone tube (thus in a high position), so it is going to be a seriously long bike and not terribly agile. Mary wanted more room than on their wedgie tandem, and with this design that won't be a problem at all.

He put a Ritchey Rov'R tire on the front to bring it to the meeting, but it will have a fatter tire in the final version. The front fork was bought from Power On Cycling in Florida and MAY be a Rans Screamer part. Since the design somewhat resembles the BigHa recumbent, they will naturally call it the Big Ha Ha (ouch!).

For those of you who are dumpster impaired, Power On Cycling is a great source of NEW bits for building recumbents, including frame materials and foam & fabric for seats. Mark.
