Bikesmith is a true "Cottage Industry".
Just one person in a well equipped basement workshop.
After building bike frames and components, as a hobby, for 22 years,
I retired from my day job in 2000. My new commute is 13 stairs.

My new career is providing specialized metalworking and design services that are outside the scope of the typical bicycle shop. If you need "normal" repairs or parts, there are many fine bike shops in the area.

New 1/28/07 BB Cup Tool for hard to remove BB cups with shallow 5/8" flats, such as found on English 3 speeds.

New 11/04/05 Several new Short Crank Options

New Service - Crank Arm Shortening

New 11-12-04 Crank Cotter Press for older bikes.

New 7-25-03 Inexpensive 155mm Triple Chainring Cranks. These are made by modifying Dotek BMX cranks

If you are into the old English 3 speeds, I have many parts, new or used. Also service and parts for Sturmey Archer AW, FW and S5 hubs.

I also do gas and TIG welding and brazing, including all of the typical braze-ons common to upright bikes;

    Water Bottle Bosses and Pump Pins
    Eylets and Rack Mounts
    Cable Guides and Stops
    Cantilever/V-Brake Pivots
Additionally, I fabricate custom fittings, and modify standard braze-ons, for the specialized needs of recumbents.
One of these days I need to build a page showing some examples.
